Mr. Ehrenpreis has more than 40 years of experience as a tax specialist at national and regional public accounting firms, and is a highly sought-after expert on tax controversy, income, and gift and estate taxation affecting middle-market companies, entrepreneurial owners and high-net-worth individuals. He is his clients’ advocate before taxing authorities, serving as a Kovel accountant (enabling him client privilege), in examinations and delinquency matters by persuasively and strategically presenting their positions. He has advised in criminal tax matters, bankruptcy, matrimonial dissolution and taxation issues of high net worth individuals and closely held businesses.

His thorough understanding of income, sales and use, excise and gross receipts tax matters is foundation for his sophisticated approach in trust and estate planning and advisory services.

He has served as an expert witness before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, US Treasury Internal Revenue Service, New York State Department of Taxation and Finance regarding a variety of taxation matters and tax delinquencies. Previously he worked for New York State Attorney General (Lefkowitz); tax and consumer fraud issues; United States House of Representatives (McDade) and as a White House Fellow (Nixon).

He has been published and has spoken on taxation matters, participated in symposia at Syracuse University and the New York City Bar Association; taught a business course at NYU School of Medicine. Scott has been quoted in Money Magazine, Forbes and The New York Post.
