Mr. Spierer specializes in the taxation of closely held businesses, wealthy individuals, and handles complex business and tax matters for family offices. He has extensive experience with entities operating as Partnerships and S Corporations and has assisted clients with the tax efficient structuring on the purchase and sale of businesses. He often reviews partnership and S corporation operating agreements to evaluate complex technical issues. His work covers a wide range of business sectors including real estate operators and developers, service providers, law firms, distributors, manufacturers and others. He has extensive experience representing businesses and individuals in a wide range of tax controversy issues at the federal, state and local levels and is the Firm’s senior member in this area.
Mr. Spierer has been a frequent speaker at PrimeGlobal tax conferences and at the NYSSCPA Closely Held and S Corporation and Partnership conferences. He has been frequently quoted in the Wall Street Journal and authored articles for the CPA Journal, the American Professional Practice Association Digest, and ABA Business Briefs.
EDUCATION
Mr. Spierer received a BA in Economics from the State University of New York at Cortland, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Tulane University, and an Advanced Professional Certificate from New York University.
