Mr. Harburg served as national coordinating counsel in numerous MDL proceedings, including the Welding Fume MDL proceeding on behalf of the industry defense group, and the Ford Explorer/Firestone tire MDL proceeding on behalf of Ford Motor Company. He currently is serving as national coordinating counsel in the Pinnacle hip MDL proceeding on behalf of DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. He has briefed and argued class certification motions, Daubert motions and dispositive motions in class actions and MDL proceedings in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels, including arguments before the Supreme Courts of Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida and New Jersey. He has spoken at numerous conferences on class action, mass torts and MDL issues.

Mr. Harburg repeatedly has been selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He was named a “BTI Client Service All-Star 2012” by the BTI Consulting Group.

Mr. Harburg also heads the Housing Team for the Skadden Impact Project in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, which seeks to leverage the firm’s pro bono efforts to provide legal services for families with children. He also is chairman of the board of Open City Advocates, a nonprofit that provides advocacy and mentoring services to youth in D.C.’s juvenile detention facility, as well as promoting systemic juvenile justice reform.
